What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, understand how you use it, and — in our case — track affiliate clicks so we can earn commissions that fund editorial work.
Cookies we use
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Anonymised traffic analytics | 2 years |
| bkng_* | Booking.com | Affiliate tracking | 30 days |
| agoda_* | Agoda | Affiliate tracking | 30 days |
| tp_marker | TravelPayouts | Affiliate tracking | 30 days |
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which content resonates with readers, which destinations are most searched, and how people navigate the site. All data is anonymised — we cannot identify individuals from analytics data.
Affiliate tracking cookies
When you click a link to Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia, Trip.com, or TravelPayouts, a tracking cookie is set by that partner. This allows them to attribute any booking you make to GABCA Sphere and pay us the agreed commission. These cookies do not collect personal browsing history beyond the partner site.
How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. In Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies. In Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect site functionality. Blocking affiliate cookies means we won't earn commission if you book — the price you pay remains the same either way.
